Make Music Athens — June 21 | 1–5 PM

Main Street Athens is excited to bring Make Music Day to Downtown Athens on Sunday, June 21 from 1–5 PM — a worldwide celebration of music held each year to mark the first day of summer and longest day of the year. This event is part of the national initiative by the Make Music Alliance, and we’re proud to partner with them to bring our own Make Music Day to Athens!

This free, family-friendly Arts & Music Festival will fill downtown with creativity as musicians perform throughout the afternoon in storefronts, restaurants, and outdoor spaces while local artists showcase and create work throughout the district. It’s the perfect way to gather with family after church and spend Father’s Day afternoon enjoying music, art, and community together.

This event is made possible by our official partners and sponsors: METTC, The Arts Center, City of Athens, Denso, and Truist — and we are currently welcoming additional partners who want to help bring this day to life.

Sign up through the official Make Music Day website. The platform includes a built-in matchmaking system where musicians and venues register and are paired together. Once matched, you’ll coordinate performance times and details directly through the system.

Want to host live music at your location? You can also register on the Make Music Day website to be matched with musicians through the same system.

🎨 Local Artists & Creatives

Painters, makers, illustrators, and creatives are invited to showcase their work and create art during the event.
