Old Fashioned Downtown Christmas

Old Fashioned Downtown Christmas 2026 returns to Downtown Athens on Saturday, December 5, 2026, from 2:00–7:00 PM, with the beloved Christmas Tree Lighting at 7:00 PM in Market Park.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who was a part of this past year’s celebration. With over 5,400 people in attendance, Old Fashioned Downtown Christmas continues to grow, and we are excited to make 2026 even bigger and more magical.

This year’s event will once again feature strong community involvement, filling downtown with the sounds of the season. Santa Claus will be returning alongside Mrs. Claus and his elves, greeting families in front of the courthouse and continuing a cherished holiday tradition for our community.

Vendor applications will open mid to late July, with a specific date to be announced soon. We encourage vendors, performers, and community partners to keep an eye out for application details.
