Matthew 7:12 is a quote from Jesus's teachings: "So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the law and the prophets." Athens, Tennessee, has a history of standing up for righteousness, contributing to a better society, and opposing oppression and corruption. The Golden Rule store embodied these values in how they conducted their business, emphasizing integrity in all their dealings. Over 110 years since this building was known as "The Golden Rule," we hope to be reminded of a history that compels us toward a future that upholds these same values.
